Title: QRV-07 gain
Post by: peterklimo on November 11, 2007, 10:19:44 AM
Hi peranders,
I assembled QRV-07, it works perfect, but I need higher gain, because amp plays quietly with less sensitive models like AKG K701 and sennheiser HD 595.

I use 50k ALPS blue velvet pot at the input of the amp. Is it enough to change values of resistors R4 or/and R5 ? When I understood it right, in your original configuration is gain set to 2 -  R5/R4 + 1. Can I increase it for example to 3 ?

It's very easy to set the gain you'll desire. If you already have 1k you can solder an another 1k on top of R4.

Ok, I changed gain to desired value. I have another question to you:

Is it possible to use QRV 07 as a preamplifier ?

Sure, it's perfect actually. It can drive anything with ultralow distortion.
