I got the transistors from farnell/element14 so they should be all genuine..

DZ1, the LED, how is it mounted? Where is the cathode?

cathodes are both towards the mounting screws side. Im assuming if dz1 was wrong way around then it wouldnt blink when I first turn the power on.

yes, as I said before both the cathodes on leds are on the same side as the picture. you made me doubt myself so checked it again and again :-o

could the problem be the vr1?

Um yes it's in the bom and the schematic. I think the one I have is lm431 aiz or something

Could you diode check the LED's? Do them emit light?

Dz1 is working but I cant get the h1 to work.. maybe Ill change it and see what happens.

If you test the H1 with the DVM at diode test, any weak light?

Yeah I did a diode check on both, got the dz1 to work but could not get the h1 to work.
